Comments Thread For: Mairis Briedis With Brutal One Punch KO of Manuel Charr

He may never fight for a legitimate heavyweight title due to his diminutive (for a true heavyweight) stature, but tonight Latvian bomber Mairis Briedis has proven firmly he can compete with anyone in terms of his fire power.

Fighting in Grozny, Chechen Republic, Russia, against long-time fringe contender Manuel Charr (28-4, 15 KOs) a natural cruiserweight produced a picturesque one-punch knockout with just five seconds remaining in the fifth round.

This sucks for people who are bigging up Duhaupas getting an MD over Charr

Hadn't heard of Briedis before today but hopefully he goes back to cruiserweight and adds to the mix there. Charr went down heavy.

One punch knockout, it didn't even look like he loaded that much on his uppercut.

Both Duhaupas and Charr looked awful in that fight, Charr being the worse of the two.

Charr has looked poor since his KO loss to Povetkin, and wasn't very good to begin with.

This is the first thing that came to my mind.
I'd still like to see Scipio keep trying, however.

He looked in terrible shape, and that punch doesn't look like there was a lot of power behind it.

That CW hand speed did him in. The uppercut was perfectly placed and Charr had no clue it was coming. I say stay at HW since there's more money there or fight Huck when he re establishes himself.
