Very good point. Also Lara's offense is very mechanical and predictable. The only combination he really throws is the jab and straight left. It works well for him but against a guy like Floyd, he'd figure it out by round 2 and counter him all day.

This would have been an intriguing chess match. Any reason why hardcore fans didn't want this fight to happen?

there's no way in hell i'd be able to type if i drank enough booze to think lara could beat ward, golovkin. floyd, too, but the middleweight and supermiddleweight was just too much

What I've read from Floyd fans was:

                1. Lara don't bring money to the table (as if FM is not already rich)
                2. He's not ready for Floyd (tell me about it)
                3. He'll stink up the place (I thought real fans adore styles like Lara's)
                4. Who has he beat?
                5.
                6.

They are both very skilled boxers, but Mayweather is smarter then Lara

Just compare Lara vs Canelo, May vs Nelo

... The last time Mayweather fought a guy with arms longer than his was in 2007, against De La Hoya... Oscar had a reach of 73" /185cm... and the score cards were 116-112, 115-113, 113-115... Think about this.

Lara would expose punchstat for being the farce that it is when it comes to Floyd fights....Lara would run/potshot Floyd so bad there would be rounds Floyd landed zero punches.

Part of the reason Floyd won't fight Khan...he'd beat him at his own boring game.
