Size and style might cause an issue but I can't see Floyd losing to a one dimensional fighter like Lara especially one that fights at that kind of pace.

Floyd beats him. If Canelo and Angulo could track down Lara and tag him Floyd certainly can. People forget that Floyd knows how to cut off a ring. If you watch his amateur career and earlier fights he would come forward a lot of the time and pressure his opponents. Lara also fights at a slow pace which no one has been able to come close to beating Floyd at a slow pace fight. Floyd is also a better ring general than Lara.

When was the last time Floyd fought a taller southpaw with a 2 in reach advantage that can box?

Never. Lara has advantages here. He wouldn't be worried about floyds power, so this is Lara's fight to win from the outside.

This is why Floyd is fighting berto instead.

Great post, most people ignore this and try to downplay it by mentioning paper champions that he has fought which have all been in the same mold for the most part.

It's really a shame that we never got to see Floyd Mayweather fight many different styles and If he did fight a certain style he'd tend to wait a long time before the fight could be made in one case a whole six years.

              Lara UD

Floyd will open himself up on defense. Lara isnt gonna get out classed and he isnt gonna get beatbup by a Floyd mayweather. Floyds best assets arebhis defense and countering.. Lara is taller and has a longer reach and he is a south paw.
Floyd most certainly would have to be the
Aggresor and use energy to cut the ring and put combinations together as pot shotting Lara and .. Lara has seen floyds stylr in cuba but Fliyd has not exactly faced many cubans or a Lara.

Floyd exerting more energy to be the aggressor and having to put combinations together would be a shock to his stamina in a real fight .

A shot pac was able to win 3 rounds. A zab judah off a baldomir beat down was able to win 4 rounds and drop floyd

I think Lara makes Floyd look bad and somewhat exposed .
He would catch Floyd with straight lefts jumping in with his straigh rt And his straight rt to the body. Styles make fights and imo Lara would win 8 rounds to 4. And two of floyds winning rounds would be swing rounds. . Lara is skilled ,smart and quick and fast and long and tall.

Bad matchup for Floyd, Lara is an excellent boxer and could win a decision vs Floyd. To much risk and not enough $$$.
