The issue of dual citizenship has become an increasing problem, especially when those with dual citizenship's are functional members of the federal government. Such as when members of congress are loyal to Israel, but are at the same time citizens of the US.

Many believe this is why Israel receives so much financial aid, weapons and favoritism. Tax revenue was originally collected to help run the Govt. and for assistance to American citizens, but because members of the house are dual citizens, they're using their positions to prop up a foreign countries with funds that were explicitly for the American peoples welfare.
Look dude, don't try and use my question to try and sell me your anti-*** politics.

I am aware that there are some countries in which one may hold citizenship there and here. If I'm not mistaken Mexico is one, for example.

    Is Russia?

I have my doubts, but I hope Roy can swing it cause' that's not a bridge you want to burn.

Will he have to renounce his US citizenship to become Russian, or can he get dual?
He does not have to renounce his US nationality to hold dual citizenship. He probably plans to promote fights in Russia and it's probably easier to do so as he mentioned to *****...if he had Russian citizenship. I doubt he plans to relinquish his US citizenship...it's just a business decision.

        Comrade Jones!

He's been trying to get his citizenship for a few years now, been some threads posted years ago. His main reason is it's easier for him to fight and promote as a citizen of Russia.

He's been there many times so I guess so. Not like some of the women here who tried to throw him under the bus to make a quick buck on him, by trying to sell a story and being mad because he wouldn't get a divorce.

The issue of dual citizenship is minor overall because the vast majority of US citizens don't have it. For correction -- You don't have to make any announcement, publicly or privately, to remain a US citizen. The only thing required is to pay US taxes on any income made abroad. Because of this rule, some have given up their US citizenship.

Personally, I don't see a problem with Jones having Russian citizenship. In my opinion, it's quite smart. I believe it's better to have more than one place of citizenship rather than just the US. The more places of citizenship one has, the better.

I haven't looked in to it, but why Russia?

It would make more sense to get an E.U. Passport.
