There used to be a "One citizen, One Country" rule in the US that has been altered over time. Now, all you have to do is make an official statement that you are still a US citizen and have no desire to change loyalties. (Someone correct if that is incorrect)

The issue of dual citizenship has become an increasing problem, especially when those with dual citizenship's are functional members of the federal government. Such as when members of congress are loyal to Israel, but are at the same time citizens of the US.

Many believe this is why Israel receives so much financial aid, weapons and favoritism. Tax revenue was originally collected to help run the Govt. and for assistance to American citizens, but because members of the house are dual citizens, they're using their positions to prop up a foreign countries with funds that were explicitly for the American peoples welfare.
