He has marketed himself as a blue collar boxer willing to put in the hard work to reap the rewards and has created a good number of fans over the past couple of years because of his attitude and work ethic.

Ward has an arrogant feel about him and his actions during fight negotiations lend total credibility to that assumption. His demands show an elevated sense of self importance and value. Yet his "numbers" are atrocious, certainly not worthy of the demands that he puts on the table time and time again.

Bradley vs Vargas pulled in 1.228MM views (LINK) while Ward vs Smith pulled in a paltry 323K (LINK).

Feel free to decide for yourself who has more fans.

Okay bruh. Try to lie your way out of it. The ultimate excuse is a bold faced lie. Ward offered to fight Froch in London and Carl Froch countered with Nottingham or nothing and nothing is exactly what we got. It's a documented fact. And what does Carl Froch and fighting at abroad have to do with Ward and Triple E? Is the "A-Side" saying that they have to fight in Khazakstan now? That's probably the next excuse coming.

He's not, it's because GGG is in the title.

Ben Thompson : I was asking because, well, obviously the biggest fight in boxing is Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, but in my opinion, the second biggest fight that can be made is Andre Ward vs. Sergio Martinez. I know Martinez's people have been saying they don't want to move up any higher in weight, but I was curious to know if you thought maybe you could get down to maybe 165 and meet him at a catchweight.

Andre Ward: I think something like that could be reasonable. I would have to really take my time and see if that makes sense, but Sergio Martinez, I would love that fight. I think it would be a great fight for the sport; I really do. I respect his skills, I respect what he's done and what he's doing, and I say this with the utmost respect, man, that's a fight that, if it can happen, it should happen. I would love that.

Boxing is a one on one combat sport, there should be some pride in it. Guys should want to beat guys at their best, not gain advantages through silly stipulations. If Ward won't be at his best at 164 then this fight shouldn't be discussed. If ggg won't be at his best at 168 then they shouldn't even mention this fight. Fans should want to see fights on even terms, unfortunately, that's not the case anymore.

Let's compare how many excuses Triple E has in comparison to Ward first!

Team ggg: "how can you be the A side when you never headline a ppv?"
Ward can easily say 250,000 buys is probably no better than being the opening fight for 1 million + buys. Ward will be getting a lot more exposure than GGG headlining or not.

Go count how many comments that are in the Triple E vs. Lemieux thread then come back and say the same thing...

Ward can easily say he doesn't give dam about who is the A-Side or the B-Side or whatever negotiating Trilple E tried to do through the media...
