This is the same Cotto that took the easy way out against Margarito;taking knees all night, got beat easily by Trout, got demolished by pac, and was hurt against Mayweayher in the 12th round with the sweeping right hands. Cotto has taken opportunistic fights; fought a shot Martinez with two knee braces, fought a past prime Rodriguez who was washed up after his wars with Wolak, and then fought a weight drained Geale. Truth is this statement means absolutely nothing. Abel is trying to frame expectations before a possible negotiation. But it doesn't mean team GGG won't accept a catchweight. If Cotto beats Canelo then his fight with GGG would be a superfight, and the only superfight available to GGG at the moment. Hard to think GGG wouldn't concede a few pounds for that.

"GGG only needs a belt, not Cotto", LOL. GGG could make his 3 year income in a single Cotto fight. If he says no to a Cotto fight over a catch weight he might as well fight for free.

Dream on. If it's a draw and Golovkin beats Lemieux Cotto remains champion and has to fight GGG. Nothing changes unless Canelo wins, in which case he has to fight the Kazakh. There is no step aside so Canelo has GGG next if he wins.
