Anybody else catch that? the article says Bhop tied the all time defense record when he KOd Trinidad, next paragraph it states GGG is at 14, right where Bhop was when he faced Trinidad. Not a big deal i guess, but thats quite a feat for the Alien, 20 defenses! Wow! Im actually rooting for GGG to close in on that record.

And then, regardless as to the actual number..... we will examine both records in great detail to determine if the quality of opponents stack up.

        * Khan - undeserving, but the best welter, and I would like nothing more than to see him get dished up by Mayweather
        * Golovkin - undeserving, the easiest opponent (style-wise, and he would be shot at 154), and I would like nothing more than to see him get dished up by Mayweather

The reason why I only listed Golovkin at #4 is because.....
        1) he is not the most challenging opponent for Mayweather
        2) he has not earned that payday
        3) I would love to watch Mayweather dish him up at 154

edit: and the only reason Golovkin made #4 is because the current crop of welters are underwhelming to say the least.
If GGG makes 154 comfortably and fights Floyd at that weight, Floyd is toast. GGG would just run him over, to big, to much power. GGG would just walk through him, remember Floyd is not the joungest anymore. He has never faced an Opponent as big and powerfull as GGG. And he has skills too. This is a mismatch that should never be made because it is a physical mismatch. You cant even blame Mayweather for not fighting GGG.

So that means that thurman, lara bothh have legit title defenses at their respective weight classes?

            I think you're dreaming.

If GGG could make 154 comfortably, he would obviously be fighting there.

He would have to cut off one of his legs to make 154.

If you make 154, you will not have enough of a size advantage to run over Mayweather, end of story.

If you can make 154, you will be beaten by Mayweather.

In fact, I think that is ridiculous.

            1) Golovkin has NEVER made 154 - your assumption that he could make JMW is a pipedream based on nothing, you're dreaming.

            2) If Golovkin made 154 he would not be GGG, he would only be GG. There is NO WAY that Golovkin would be the same fighter at 154, no way.

            3) Golovkin is obviously avoiding the spoilers, he will not fight Lara/Mora/Ward/etc, and I have to wonder why..... and yet, you think that even after dropping a whopping 6 pounds he will step up and beat the best fighter on the planet ?

            Dreaming !

You dont know if Golovkin can beat any elite fighter, and yet somehow he can beat Mayweather with one leg?

I dont think the average fan has a clue about weight.

Mayweather would beat Golovkin easier than be beat Canelo.

I will go further..... Canelo beats Golovkin at 154, and so does Lara.

Golovkin only needed a 4lb guarantee with Ward, 6lb would kill him.

Boxing has weight divisions for a reason, and Mayweather owns 154.

Floyd owns 154, hasn't fought a 154 lber in over 3 years (CWs don't count.)
              Ward owns 168, hasn't fought a top 10 168 lber in almost 4 years.

              You guys are hilarious.

What 154lb'er could beat Mayweather flathead ?

And what 168lb'er could beat Ward ?

                aight then !

Golovkin dont want none of Lara, so he definitely needs to keep Mayweathers name out of his mouth.
