Trinidad never used illegal wraps and was never accused of using illegal wraps or fined or suspended for using illegal wraps. Apparently you have him confused with Margarito who was punished for attempting to use illegal wraps. Once Trinidad had to rewrap his hands because in New York and only New York he used more tape than allowed. Tape merely protects a fighter's hands and has no effect on punching power what so ever.
