Margarito is a good game tough fighter. He has a great chin and the ability to throw over 100 good punches a round all night. Trinidad was one of the greatest welterweights in history and along with Robinson and Hearns the hardest punching welterweight in history. Trinidad won his first 40 fights in a row before losing to Hopkins. He was welterweight champion at 20 years old and held that title for over 6 years and never lost at 147. He had 16 fights with the welterweight title on the line and won them all mostly by KO. Trinidad was vastly superior to Margarito and knocks him out, great chin and all.

This is a terrible stylistic match-up for Margarito. He was big and strong welter. But Tito is stronger. It took Hopkins, who really is LHW in disguise to beat him. Coming forward with a little defense in hope of trading punches is a disaster against Trininad.

Trinidad never used illegal wraps and was never accused of using illegal wraps or fined or suspended for using illegal wraps. Apparently you have him confused with Margarito who was punished for attempting to use illegal wraps. Once Trinidad had to rewrap his hands because in New York and only New York he used more tape than allowed. Tape merely protects a fighter's hands and has no effect on punching power what so ever. Trinidad was not fined or punished because he did nothing illegal. Trinidad fought great Mexican fighters and never kneeled to any of them and instead knocked them out except for the great De La Hoya. Regardless of who you think won that fight, Trinidad was the aggressor all fight and Oscar did all the running. Trinidad kneeling to Margarito????? In your ****** dreams only.
