When did Mayweather become #1 P4P?

I only became a real boxing head back in 2009 so I don't know much about some of the fights in the couple of years beforehand. Was it in 2007 after he beat De La Hoya?

Probably around the gattI fight in the summer of 2005..

Hopkins was the #1 fighter once roy jones got knocked out in early 2004.. Hopkins lost to taylor around the same time as floyd beat gatti... That pretty much started the #1 reign for floyd, though he has been p4p since 1998

he got the p4p top spot the first time because Hopkins lost

he got the it the second time because pac lost

pac got it when Floyd retired

                both got it by default

sweetpea is probably the last that got the top spot by knocking off the then current top guy

Strange thing is that by 2001 Corrales was ahead of floyd on p4p list.. I think diego was 4 and floyd was 6 or 7.. It's weird to think that was true at one point
