  • Mayweather was the best fighter of the previous era

Andre Ward is going to be the best fighter of this era (along with Rigondeaux), he's way better than Floyd for me. I've seen Mayweather being vulnerable at some moments, but I've never seen a second from any Ward fights where he looks vulnerable

Both of them are boring though, Lomachenko and Rigondeaux are more entertaining for me if we talk about fighters with impressive defensive skills

I'd suggest you haven't seen enough Ward in that case...

It's boxing you're going to get hit.

Yeah, I've forgot about that knock down, but anyway, the point remains, while some people can argue and say that Mayweather lost pro fights before (his 1st fight with Castillo), Ward been dominating all his competition with ease, making boxers of Froch caliber look like bums.

Some boxers had some succesful moments against Mayweather, but I don't remember boxers having any successful moments with Ward, except for that knock down

The Castillo fight was Floyd's first fight at the weight, he was significantly outweighed and injured. That version of Castillo was also a better fighter than Froch, and Floyd has made better fighters than Froch look like bums.

I like Ward, but any talk of him being better, more dominant or whatever than Floyd is ridiculous. He's only been in with 4 "top" fighters.

Floyd is naturally about one or more weight class bigger then Manny. So it's not so big deal for Floyd to beat Manny, and for Manny - to lose to Floyd, if we speak about resume. What counts more, that Manny has beat more quality opponents in his weight classes than Floyd.

Floyd is naturally one weight class bigger than Manny by what standard? Both guys were 106 pounds when they were 16 and both fought at 147 when they were 36. Manny has not beat more quality opponents than Floyd either. Manny's record in title fights is 18-4-2 while Floyd's record is 26-0 in title fights.

Manny hasn't surpassed Floyd in any measure except for number of knockouts.

Dude, Floyd has 20 more fights than Ward, has competed in more divisions, and has beat far more world champions, and he hasn't even had one clear knockdown scored against him.

Ward, although good, is definitely not better than Floyd pound for pound.

I know that Ward career don't have nothing on Floyd

I've said Ward looked less vulnerable throughout his career, even though he doesn't have a lot of solid scalps on his resume, unlike Floyd

Just like Golovkin who doesn't look vulnerable in his fights, but the difference is that Golovkin beating nothing but bums and Ward is willing to face top fighters in his division

And I believe he has the potential to become next Mayweather with the right promotional strategy behind him

I can't see no one beating Ward at this point actually.

If he'll lose to Kovalev (that won't happen though) I'll be really angry and disappointed

I see where you're coming from. Ward is a bigger and more physical fighter than Floyd is. He's also one of the most intelligent fighters right now in boxing.
I'd still place Loma, Rigo ahead of Ward though.
I think Kovalev has a great chance at beating Ward to be honest.

By all standarts. When Manny went to welterweight it was considered like a complete crazyness. He is the smallest welter. Floys is not a big welter, but he has an average size in nowadays welterweight.Floyd outgrew small weights in the earlier age than Manny.
The record in title fights has nothing to do with the quality of the opponents. Name me what great boxers of the Floyd's size Floys beat in their prime? Who? Corrales and Castilo, Cotto? Floyd never seeked dangerous opponents when he became a big name, it's a fact. Yet Manny has Morales, Barrera, Marques, Hatton, Cotto - all these guys have the same size or are bigger than Manny.
