Too many fights were fought too late for these two guys to be ranked any where near top 15. They got no one else to blame but themselves, they chose the easy route, so they shouldn't be held to the same standard as the guys who took on more challenges, closest to their peak.

Pacquiao fought peak versions of Barrera, Morales and Marquez, 3 of the best fighters from feather to super feather of his generation. Not to mention Pac was coming up in weight to fight these guys.

Floyd fought a prime Castillo, Corrales and Hatton. The latter two may have some weight issues but it is what it is.

Pacquiao - his fans are just ****ing ******ed, seriously. Most of them don't know **** about boxing.
Pac himself I do not hate, although I rooted against him mostly his entire career.
see thats one my worst hate when in comes to the hate of mayweather is the whole stereotyping of mayweather fans. When in reality most people who like mayweather started being a fan not because of his persona but because hes a master boxer

        fought pac 5 years late

is fighting berto instead of a good fighter like thurman, brook, porter, or even khan

constant cheating: clinching, bending below the waist, elbows

refs that let him cheat: bayless, cortez,

        besides that he cool
This basically outlines the grievances i have with Floyd. I still like him as a fighter though.

As a person not so much.

Don't really like Mayweather's over the top personality which to me is just annoying, but I love him as a fighter.

The only things I dislike about Manny are Freddie Roach and the way people talk about other fighters mistakes out of the ring but just brush over Manny's.

A comparison for a Mayweather fight would be like a visit to a old-style carnival where outside of a tent there is a carnival barker saying "Only $15 to see captive alien with a beard!" You get excited so "Yeah, I want to see that" and after you pay your money and go into the tent. In the dim light you realize it is just somebody with a mask, trying to act like an alien and you're mad and feel played.

Before the fight, Mayweather talks about going for the KO and then the fight comes and he plays it safe and mostly stays out of range and fights to a boring decision. I'm mad and feel played. He's smiling and counting his money just like that carnival barker in the prior paragraph.

I hate on Floyd Mayweather because his persona has created an unhealthy attitude in the sport of boxing, where every jackass with a paper belt thinks they are a star and every halfway decent fight needs to be built up into a mega fight.

I hate on Manny Pacquiao because he's an egomaniac and a bit of a fraud outside the ring.

I hate on them collectively because their bull**** played a huge role in the schism between networks and promoters that still plagues boxing. Both guys are ATGs, I'm glad to have watched them, but I'll be very happy when both guys retire.

Should Manny even be mentioned on this thread?

As a general rule, people don't hate Pacquiao unless they're Floyd Mayweather fans. There is the odd exception here and there, but not statistically significant. Pacquiao is mostly loved, even after losing thousands lined the streets for him.

Conversely, people hated Floyd way before Pacquiao and will continue to do so after. The various reasons have already been documented in this thread, no need to repeat them.

Yeah but using that logic the fans didn't want The Margarito fight because the numbers would have been the same for that fight.
