Cotto wins by TKO? Anythings possible but if there's going to be a stoppage I can't imagine it coming early. Canelo is a physically strong young guy with decent speed himself. This one is such a pick em fight but I will say Alvarez by UD

Tough fight for both guys but I don't see cotto hurting Canelo. Canelo on the other hand will probably hurt the aging PR champ

Lol canelo is an idiot cotto has changed his style he went from brawler to boxer puncher and roach has changed cotto to be more aggressive to take out the opponent out of the fight early and control the pace canelo does not have a top trainer in his corner and they are not experienced like roach canelo will be schooled

If Cotto's smaller brother can hurt the ginger...best believe Cotto can put him to sleep.

Man Roach looked pretty bad in the lead up to the Pac/Mayweather fight. Guy is a great trainer but his physical limitations are becoming more and more noticeable.

The jab is the key for Cotto . If he gets that going with a little movement he will pull it off!!!!!

Cotto is there to he hit, always has been. Unless like I said...something changed over night here.

Accept he wasnt tagged at will for most of both fights, your points are severely tarnished. Also Cotto has always been a great mover, his problem has always been combining his movement, offense, and defense together. That problem was never corrected because of the limited training of his uncle, his next trainer, Emmanuel wanted to turn Cotto into a stand straight up, jabber but Emmanuel addressed Cotto's balance, and initiated the resurgence of Cotto's right hand. Cotto's next trainer, Pedro wanted to make Cotto into a defensive boxer (cuban style), Cotto's defense and movement were better, but still no cohesion with his offense. This is where Roach comes in. Why Roach deserves credit, he understands Cotto has a high ring IQ but he took what Cotto does well, and improved it rather then molding Cotto into something he's not. Brought back the Left to the body, and introduced in and out on angles which is the glue of the three things Cotto does well, movement, offense, and defense. Roach's idea of defense is angles and controlling ring positioning, that coupled with Cotto's high guard and low chin has worked really well in his last three fights. Will he be able to do those things with Canelo? I think he can because Canelo is not a pressure fighter or high volume puncher, but we shall see.

Opposition determines the success of the fighters improvement, not the improvement itself. Cotto stopped throwing the left to the body, he never moved in and out on angles, he's punching harder and controlling distance. He is even training better as he remains in shape between fights and as revealed by Roach his diet was horrible when training. If you do not recognize these improvements then you my fiend are in denial.
