Comments Thread For: Canelo Not Worried About Roach Being a Factor For Cotto

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (45-1-1, 32KOs) is looking forward to the most anticipated fight of the fall, his HBO Pay-Per-View battle with WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33KOs) on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Those on the side of Cotto have called him a reinvented fighter since his pairing with veteran trainer Freddie Roach in 2013. Canelo is not one of those people. He sees Cotto as being the same fighter that he previously was.

It's the s&c coach that turned Cotto around more IMO. Roach gets overhyped too much.

Same soup, just reheated. Roach is a non-factor. Cotto is who he is, and always was. Canelo should dispatch him rather easy unless Cotto turned into some moving wizard over night.

looks like alvared is in for a surprise. has he forgotten that he is who he is also.(GAS GUZZLER). he better not throw those wild punches at the air and leave himself wide open like he did with trout and lara. unlike them two. cotto will make him pay.its going to be a great fight

How so? This is the same Cotto who 7-8 years ago (prime) was being tagged at will by Margarito in both fights?

Same prime fighter that was being bullied and tagged by quicksand Clottey?

Cotto is there to he hit, always has been. Unless like I said...something changed over night here.

I can't really judged Cotto's improvement when he is not fighting Elite opposition. Canelo will be his first real test since his last loss.
