Khan-Pacquiao is a potentially exciting fight, but imo it's a foregone conclusion Khan gets taken out and for that reason it's not as interesting to me.

Khan-Mayweather was the more intriguing fight. It would've been interesting to see how it played out.

      Yup.

      By praising the Rios/Algieri fight.

Mayweather would be ridiculed for fighting junior welters.

Maybe Garcia would get a pass being the man at 140, although plenty would likely ridicule him as an opponent, I certainly dont think hes ready for Mayweather..... but mid-level 140 guys ?

      No way !

Is it really a foregone conclusion ?

Back in the day..... Pac/Khan used to have heated sparring sessions that were back-and-forth..... once Khan started to develop and started to adapt to Pacquiao, he gave Manny fits and sometimes got the better of him.

I know its only sparring..... but after a time Khan was no longer required as a sparring partner for Manny..... despite him being ideal preparation for a number of potential opponents.

The word is that Khan was not helping Pacquiao, take that how you like.

Also, Khan has developed, and Pacquiao has slipped.

Also, Khan is now a welter, and Pacquiao is now a junior welter, I think ?

        I see it completely differently.

Mayweather would outclass Khan to a clinical UD, but I see Pac/Khan being much more competitive.

Pacquiao dropped Algieri 6 times, I'd be shocked if he didn't hurt and stop Khan. Probably fairly early too because Khan can get drawn into trading.

Floyd might well have outclassed Khan, but I still wanted to see how it played out. There was an element of the unknown that I don't see with the Pacquiao fight.

Fwiw I think Brook KOs Khan too, imo Amir doesn't last with the punchers in the division.

              Some good points.

But you cant compare Khan to Algieri.

Khan was a world-class fighter and close to the best at 140.

Algieri only beat the dreadfully limited Provodnikov.

Khan has much more experience than Algieri, and is a much better fighter.

Pac is a real problem if you are not used to him, or if you do not have much world-class experience..... and even if you do, he can still bust you up.

Look at Marquez I...... but once Marquez adjusted..... different story.

Khan is used to Pacquiao, Algieri was exposed at world-class level.

I'm not saying that Khan would beat Pac, just that the result is not necessarily a foregone conclusion..... also sparring is one thing, and Pac is a completely different monster once the bright lights come on..... but it would not surprise me at all if Khan was right in that fight early.

Nah that's about equally embarassing - I would change my avatar to be Pacquiao in front of a bunch of cherries instead if that fight were signed.

as a fight fan, i don't care much about how much the fight makes, i could shell out some money for the pac khan fight...this means something as i have never bought floyd's fights, not even the one against pac.....

If a flat footed Garcia and a featherfisted Algieri can hurt Khan then someone with Manny's speed and power and timing should be fun to watch....count me in for the execution....can't wait!
