Browne has always been a slow, easy to hit plodder. He's lucky he came through this and is mandatory for the 'regular' WBA strap. It's the closest he's going to come to a world title.

Wilder vs Browne is still an interesting prospect in which I still favour Browne too win slightly by digging deep.
      I don't, at all.

Wilder may have poor footwork and a loose guard, but Browne is worse in every area. His jab is laboured, his guard almost non-existent, his footwork terrible and he cuts so damn easily.

Wilder would KO or score a wide UD over him, IMO.

Just watched the fight, Browne's effort wasn't nearly as bad as this article's headline made it out to be. Julius Long had a couple good early rounds where he was able to hit Browne at will and seemed to have hurt him on one or two occasions. However, once Lucas shook off the initial ring rust he seemed to get into a good offensive rhythm and Julius Long, who was brought in there to lose, did just that. After having good success in the early rounds, Long was content to just grapple and throw a few punches here and there.

Lucas Browne is a fringe contender; he's not gonna win any titles but, a tough 'n gritty fighter. Nothing more, nothing less

This is exactly what I thought. The title is misleading. All Long did was hold & survive other then a few decent punches landed. He had one good body shot that actually backed Browne off. Browne won most of the rounds & ended it like he was suppose to. I guess he broke his hand or thumb I read somewhere. He was complaining about it after the 2nd round. I don't know how he avoided a disaster as he was in control. That being said I don't think Browne is going far. He isn't going to beat anyone in the top 20. I would like to see him fight Eric Molina. I think Chagaev will have no trouble with him. What is this that he can't contact Hatton on social media? I'm sure he can stay in touch with his promoter by phone or email. Browne needs a better team behind him. I also think Wilder would destroy Browne like Brewster did to Golota...

I believe that even the 36 year old 250 pound version of Ruslan Chagaev is still good enough to easily beat Lucas.
