Why is it that Australia/New Zealand, countries which produce some of the World's best athletes, especially in ball sports, throw up so many novelty acts and bizarro journeymen when it comes to boxing?

Bad day for Browne, im sure he can do better than this. But he might have no problem getting a fight against Wilder or Chagaev now. They wont run from him anymore.

You can find decent fighters in any country. I'm talking about creating elite professional fighters, honestly every prospect out of Australia is always bizarrely comical or unorthodox.

The only 'great' fighter they've had in the past 30 years has really been Tszyu, and even then his entire boxing education was Russian so that hardly counts. You have to go all the way back to guys like Rose and Famechon in the late 60's to find anything notable.
