Comments Thread For: Flores: Mayweather-Berto Will Sell, Like Maidana PPV

Cruiserweight contender and Premier Boxing Champions commentator, BJ Flores, believes Floyd Mayweather's upcoming Showtime Pay-Per-View is going to generate respectable buyrate numbers.

How well? Flores expects the numbers to be similar to Mayweather's first pay-per-view fight with Marcos Maidana in May of 2014 and the Robert Guerrero fight in May of 2013.

This will be another PPV that after the fight Showtime won't released the numbers saying they don't want the focus to be on the PPV numbers but on the fight that occurred. Yet in his last fight they had no problem telling us his fight broke all the records available. LOL

Did you just compare Berto to Maidana? Maidana's win over Broner literally ****s on Berto's entire resume.

NSB has posters that want a Floyd PPV to sell poorly so bad that they have already decided on August 12th that the PPV totals released will be fake if they are good.

The only way this sells like Madaina is if they allow Floyd fans to use EBT Card to purchase this event

I don't think it does a million. But I think it does in the 750K range. Flores is dead on when talks about how small the hardcore fight fan base is. I'd say there's about 350K hardcore fan households in this country tops. And at least half of those people will order. Floyd will lose some of the casuals that have given up hope of seeing him lose after Manny. And he'll lose a few of the ones that were pissef at the lack of action in the Manny fight. But the "last fight" angle will certainly boost sales a bit.

It will be fortunate to crack 500k which by Floyd's standards would be a flop. Flores seriously underestimates the overall negative feeling about this fight and the impact of the massive let down of Pacquiao/Mayweather.
