Mendes is a legit top level fighter, Aldo is p4p #1, if McGregor gets dominant wins over those two there's no argument about his ability.
I saw the fight, and I have to believe that if Mendes had a full training camp to prepare for Conor, that Mendes would have fared far better than he did coming in on two weeks notice. Of course, Dana White controls the UFC, so if Dana doesn't want Conor to fight Mendes a second time, the fight will not happen. We'll see how long (if ever) it takes for Conor and Chad to be matched up again. As I saw the fight, Conor certainly did not look to be anything special to me, and if he fights Jose Aldo, Conor better be far more prepared for that fight than he was against Mendes. Once again, we will have to wait and see.

There is no one in MMA that is such a big star that another MMA fighter can use his/her name to promote themselves.

Why can't these MMA lames stay in their lane? Floyd is in a completely different sport and in a completely different financial stratosphere.

Why don't they go grind and hump each other to their heart's content and earn notoriety in their own world? Stop trying to name drop Mayweather in order to get attention.

Ronda and McGregor can't keep Mayweatehr's name out of their mouth because of the publicity and the knowledge that they will never, ever face him or any other elite boxer with or without gloves on. However.....the talk will continue.

Ronda thinks she can beat anyone EXCEPT 145 pound Brazilian women. They have to lose 10 pounds before getting any consideration for a fight.

Let's see how Conor does against a fully prepared and conditioned Aldo. Not quite the same as a 3 week notice Mendes.

Maybe Rousey and Conor should face each other in a contest of who can say Mayweather's name the most in 60 seconds. The winner will face the winner of Thurman vs Khan.
She is a lot like GGG. She talks constantly about a fighter that she has no chance of getting in the ring with, but refuses to fight an opponent that is available and willing to fight her.

And what idiot on here said 13oz gloves? Who uses 13oz gloves? You mean 12oz? 14oz? Jesus. MMA guys should have no problems absorbing punches from boxers? LOL wow. Do people here really believe what they type?

MMA is garbage. It is for BJJ guys and wrestlers. Boxing and Muay Thai are REAL sports/disciplines.
You clearly don't understand different types of force, though it's not your fault. Concussive force is arguably greater the bigger the glove, but piercing force would be greater the smaller the glove. Typically, the smaller the point of impact, the more piercing force would occur. Piercing force has been used by martial artists for thousands of years to inflict maximum damage to key pointS of the musculoskeletal system, and is arguably more devastating than concussive force on a shot by shot basis.

The best mma guys can take a shot. Where I think MMA guys may be out of their element is in accumulation of punishment that occurs in boxing. They are used to shorter fights, and because of the piercing nature of their smaller gloves...generally less shots before the job is done.

Also, I've watched a hl of McGregor and I think he would make a good boxer. He has good hands. It's just he can kick pretty damn well so ufc is a better fit for him.

Like or dislike him, Mayweather reached the apex in a sport that Connie McCringer was a rank novice at. If he possessed the talent, skill & athletic ability, he'd be spoken of as a potential Mayweather opponent, as opposed to some random bum on the outside that's reduced to shamelessly attaching his name to Mayweather's in a ridiculous hypothetical situation that has zero chance of taking place.

I agree. This calling out of Floyd by MMA fighters and then the egging on by Dana White is really sad.

                    Simple as that.
It's not that simple you idiot.

I'm tired of this logic, it reminds me of everyone saying Bruce Lee beats Muhammad Ali because he created his own Martial Art. This is 2 human beings in combat, and we are talking about the BEST ELITE Boxer against some MMA upstarts that have hype behind them. We are talking about the hardest working and most condition athelete against easily gassed fighters that the UFC is putting money behind.
