Thanks for providing the tape larry.

it should be noted that if Jones had been on the ground he would have tapped, he was able, because it was a "flying" armbar, to use his shoulders and back...and it still almost tapped him.

See post to Larry, this is a variation on the technique that allows one to use the shoulders more effectively...but I only say this to clarify in this situation because you are correct. Never the less good technique goes a long way

There was a notable self defense instructor, his name escapes me, and someone asked him about a type of choke. The instructor said "put me in it lets see" and escaped the technique after a brief struggle....His friend, the choker said "nobody can escape from that choke!!" to which the instructor said "well why didn't you tell me!!?"

My bad, most sport Jiu Jiutsu applications depend on moving from a set up, most notably the guard and the mount, and then getting position first, then applying technique. This happens to be the virtual opposite of self defense training where one applies technique first and then MIGHT gain position to restrain, access a weapon or otherwise.

For a starter why does Ronda fight Miesha Tate for a third time, who she already beat so decisively two times instead of taking a challenge and moves up 5lb to fight Cyborg at 140?

They wanna create that unstoppable monster in Ronda Rousey who has very very limited competition in a sport that exists only a couple years on a somewhat acceptable level.

How many women are there in MMA that are being recognized, outside of Rousey, Ciborg and Miesha Tate? Gina Carano quit long ago, you have these 3 girls and one of them is mostly known because she is hot and got beat up by Rousey twice.

Just imagine what a male MMA athlet would do to her, even 5'3 125lb Demetrius Andrade.. dont even wanna mention guys at her weight like Dillashaw, they would just laugh at her when she tries to armbar them.

Mayweather would probably knock her out with the first bare knuckle punch he threw. She doesn't know what she is talking about. Because she can handle the punches of 130 pound women she thinks she can handle the punches of the world's best boxer just as easily but she can't. She would never touch Mayweather. He would lay her out cold before she could blink. Lots of guys say they would beat Mayweather in a street fight but saying it and actually doing it are two different things. If she wants to fight a man she should tell Dana White to match her into a male 130 pound MMA fighter and see how that goes.

Some people have better technique and before assuming a professional MMA fighter has great armbar technique, having worked with athletes in this capacity I can assure you many individuals improve on things like arm bars daily.

There actually are ways to escape an arm bar...If you can hiccup your hips and push in towards the person applying the technique, or relax the arm enough and break the position of the legs on the shoulder, or keep the body scuttling as you try to get your front past the feet, etc....I doubt floyd could do any of these though, most people tense up try to use the arm and that is the worse thing to do.
Another example: Mark Hunt escaped an armbar by Fedor Emelianenko in their December 31, 2006 fight. Fedor = Mr. Armbar yet Hunt escaped it.

Easy promotion in combat sports 101; throw Mayweather's name around in interviews and say you can beat him.

How generous of her to admit Mayweather beats her at boxing. Hell, women boxers would beat her at boxing. Mayweather just made about 200 million dollars fighting Pacquiao so he doesn't bother with MMA fighters.
