  • It's okay for Mayweather JR to make someone move up two weight classes just to fight him (Marquez), and not just that but it's that fighter's first fight at that weight class. There was a catch weight to balance it out (and of course Floyd didn't make the weight by 2 pounds and gladly paid the chump change penalty).

It's okay for Mayweather JR to drain Canelo with a catch weight.

...but it's not okay for GGG to fight Ward at a catch weight. Or, GGG must be ducking if he's fighting for belts and looking for that Canelo fight (you know, at his weight), instead of moving up in weight and fighting the #1 fighter in that division instead of taking an easier fight first.

Okay, got it. NSB for ya. Ward already cleaned out his division and said he would fight anyone from 168 - 175. Why doesn't he just fight Kovalev right now? He must be ducking and is a coward, going by the GGG logic you guys are using.

Exactly, like Floyd knows he can't beat Canelo at 154. However when HBO came calling, it was Ggg that said yes, Ward said not the right time

at first that seemed like the move GBP was making, have Lemieux make a defense or two while waiting to for the chips to fall re: Cotto/Canelo. but something changed, maybe Lemieux's camp really pressed for the GGG fight

either way, Lemieux losing to GGG won't hurt his stock much. He'll still be a player at 160 and has good chances vs the other top guys in the division

Ward has fought twice in the last 3 years, is coming off shoulder surgery, rehab and being able to train properly for the first time in a long time...if you know anything about fighting is, you take a tune up or two after a long lay off....much like Pacquaio did with Rios after being out a year

no matter how you spin it, what excuse you hold on to....they agreed on the catchweight, he made the weight and got outclassed...both sides decided on the issue, that's why its called negotiations...at one point Canelo sd he'd fight him at 150...those 2 pounds made no difference. Sure wasn't gonna make Canelo use the right game plan, which he didn't....looked like Master and Grasshopper

GGG wants to fight Ward at 164 but said he'd fight Froch and others at 168 and he and his team put anyone from 154-175 on notice....whats the difference with Ward????? I know what it is, he isn't gonna just roll over and quit and he actually is flat out the better and more proven guy

You're saying Froch would roll over and quit for the smaller unproven guy? Well he kinda did, he didn't wanna step in the ring with GGG. And that's Ward's best win, without all the handicaps GGG would concede.

You got no principles, but I knew that. Floyd knew he had no chance vs Canelo at 154, hence the CW request, right? And please, Canelo offered 150 in 2011. In 2013 he was saying it's gotta be 154, he can't go lower:

Exactly. And Floyd is the A side here, so........

if he couldn't go lower, how was he able to male weight??? In the fight he didn't look drained or anything, he looked good physically but frustrated that he could land but was getting hit clean....Canelo has underrated defense, he doesn't get his clean a lot and Floyd made him look like an amatuer

I actually favored Froch over GGG...tough as nails, proven, power, underrated boxing skills and jab, good power and size

You cant give a fighter credit for not fighting someone, do you know how silly that sounds man....they never fought so neither guy gets props for that

Froch is gonna be a hall of famer....a lot more than I can say for GGG's opponents.

GGG should worry about David Lemieux....after 33 fights this is gonna be the first fighter with good power he faces.....Rubio high ko % but he never was a 1 punch ko guy as much as accumulation

GGG is this boogeyman who hasn't even fought Qullin, Lee, Jacobs, Canelo or Cotto yet

forget about Floyd and 154, he cant even make the weight....fight good fighters your own size (160-168)

canelo was 153 for trout......he only had to lose one more pound of was he came in for trout. GGG is asking Ward(who was on long layoff) to drop down 4lbs....you can't even compare the two.

Wow, this is what happens when you are surrounded by so many yes men/women that you're not only believing them, but o.d.ing over them. Boggles the mind to think that there really is no limit to this idiot's inflated ego.
Yea, it also happens when silly casual fans run with the hype.

                      I do

When the Smith fight was announced at 172, Team Golovkin saw that Ward needed to work his way back down to 168 after that long layoff...... they know that Ward cannot make 164, so it became an effective way to remove him from the discussion.

They dont want none of Ward, and that is fine.

But if they wont fight Ward then Team Golovkin should stop talking about him, and his fans should smarten up and see through the hype.
