I applaud Mayweather for being healthy and able to enjoy his riches and whatever familial ties he hasn't already burned... He's clever, he's a tactician, he's that guy that seems to be 3 moves ahead of everyone else at the chess match. But, all of this...pedestrian admiration...does not stir my blood the way boxing legends have. The true warriors. True, many of them have ended ignominiously, and that is a shame, but the sheer shine of them when they were bright supersedes any remorse we may feel about their twilight years. They honorably and faithfully gave their lives to the fight. This is something that cannot be measured or weighed. It is not a "figure" or a statistic or an amount of freakin money. It's a feeling that transcends all of that. The fight should be honored.
Everybody dies, it's how honorably and courageously they've lived that makes the difference. All else is dust and of this world.
