There is only one difference between Oscar and RNS. One of them has no one but Canelo to make money off of. RN only has Ward other than Cotto, but they have a ton of sports athletes they are agents for, they don't NEED this fight. Cotto doesn't NEED this fight either, he just got money from RocNation, he's paid.

The ONLY one that needs this to happen is Oscar, he lost all his talent to Haymon. Any talent with a fingernail of star power left. Lucas is not a star, he's a good fighter but he'll never be a huge draw. Oscar is pissed because he has no leverage and getting taken to the cleaners. RN is the lead promoter because Oscar let them be the lead promoter. Oscar actually cut a check to RN to have the fight in Vegas, not MGS. I made a poll earlier this year on who felt Cotto is a superior fighter today since losing to Trout & Mayweather.

Roughly 50% of people said he was a different fighter today, 50% felt he was the same old Cotto.

Around 100 posters voted, so if I think he's a better fighter now, I'm not alone in that assessment.

Personally I don't credit it to Roach as much as Gavin McMillan his new conditioning coach.
