Stop pretending this is about money. If it were about money then what happened when Roc Nation outbid Haymon for the right to Quillen in a purse bid? Blew haymon out the water and gave Quillen the fight he wanted for a career high payday. Haymon forced Quillen to turn it down and vacate the belt in the process to avoid him fighting on a Roc Nation card. Despite the fight that he finally fought later the next year for significantly less money then what Roc Nation was going to pay him.
STFU this ain't about money this is about Haymon trying to control the venu. This is about him and his grudge with HBO and refusing to let his guys fight on that network. This is about him trying to create his own boxing league and that's why he's not working with other promoters or other networks.Comment

Beterbiev would not be recovered from Ramadam by November 28th? Thats what you write? Fasting ends July 17th, 2015: http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2015/06...n_7488762.html according to this article. Beterbiev would not be recovered by November 28th? Yet Beterbiev fought on Sept. 28th, in 2013 followed by a bout on November 30th, 2013. Then in 2014, Beterbiev fought on August 22nd, 2014 and then gain on September 27th, 2014. So what's different about Beterbiev fighting this September, or October, or even November, 2015? I'll tell you what is different; it's that Beterbiev would be fighting Sergey Kovalev. That's what is different. In fact, the only chance Kovalev will have to beat Beterbiev is to get Beterbiev in the ring - something which neither Beterbiev or Michel apparently want to do. So, gspm23, do us all a favor and contact Beterbiev and see if you can't get him to man up and sign to fight Sergey Kovalev in Russia on November 28, 2015. It's the least that you can do.I totally understand that his team don't want him to fight Kovalev after Ramadam. It would be hard for him since his body won't be fully recovered. I'm even pretty sure Duva knew about it and then asked him for this fight. That is so obvious : Fighting Beterbiev after Ramadam would be the only chance Sergei have to beat him! Period. So now that IBF ordered a fight between Beterbiev and Hopkins, we only have to wait until his opponent to be revealed, since we all know Hopkins won't accept the fight. Pretty sure it will be Chilemba. Would have like to see Beterbiev-Fonfara tough. What about Kovalev fight in Russia ? Kovalev-Pascal 2. There you go!Comment

Haha not at all man, I didn't remember it til you mentioned it. In retrospect it's actually funny. I just think you're flat out wrong on both issues and have been given ample reasons why you are.I'll go slow for you.
I didn't disagree with your point they were in negotiations. I said he resigned with HBO after pulling out of the purse bid, which is true. Negotiations and a final deal are not the same thing.
You like to pick at things because I got at you for the Floyd pic. I get it. On this one there is no real debate IMO-Kathy played this wrong.Comment

ok, so what if that is his plan since HBO blackballed him? Maye they should let him back on so we can get the fights we want.Stop pretending this is about money. Once again, you've hit the nail on the head. Anybody who disagrees with this is in denial.Stop pretending this is about money. There is no right, just wrongs. Duva/Kov didn't think it through and gave Michel/haymon an opening to exploit, same way HBO did by not signing kov/Stevenson fight when they could.
This is the real world, people capitalize on others mistakes.Comment

So if you agree this is all a power struggle about him starting his own boxing league and that he is alienating himself with other promoters and networks then STOP SCREAMING THIS ABOUT MONEY. It has nothing do with that. If it were about money and the biggest purse or exposure for his fighters then Quillen would of fought on Roc Nation last year and Stevenson would fight on HBO. You are being ignorant if you buy the line we want the purse bid to get the best deal from any network. BS haymon wants to try and force the fight OFF HBO and if he can't he'll do like he did with Roc Nation and pull out. Which is why the purse bid is a shamComment

75-25 split on the bid; if GYM wins the bid, they control the rest of the revenue streams (live gate, Canadian PPV, event sponsors, US TV, etc). Similar to how Lemieux made his money on the N'Dam fight. With a purse bid they would have to give Kovalev 75-25 split. Meaning they would have to likely overpay to make that fight happen in order to make it worthwhile for Beterbiev.
Instead they could reach an agreement where Beterbiev might get 35-40 of the split. Which is a lot more favorable than 25.Comment
