If the plan is still to fight on September 12 then it really is ridiculous that the fight hasn't been announced fight no matter what side of the fence you're on. I'm starting to get the feeling he won't be fighting next month.

Agree. 5 weeks & 5 days til fight night. For the #1 PPV name in boxing thats a ******edly low amount of training time for a specific confirmed opponent & just some amateur hour ****. They will need to pick a much better opponent than Berto (& whats the odds someone better will be cool with the limited time?) or need to do some epic marketing to make a Sept. 12 PPV sell a non-embarrassing number for Mayweather after the last fight.

Initially the undercard for this fight was sounding like it could be a great value, but based off of the undercard rumors it doesn't even sound like that is gonna be all that good.

At this point I think Mayweather needs to poach Cotto for a November PPV for the 160lb belt or do some outside the box thinking like a fight on free TV during superbowl halftime or something that would sell itself if he's gonna fight Berto or Khan or another subpar opponent.

I tend to think the problem is Showtime not Mayweather. I'd assume Showtime is trying to keep their foot in the doorway on the rumored 50th fight & beyond, that seems to be in play.

Berto has known about the fight and has been training since July I believe. I know there are a lot of people holding out for an announcement praying it's not Berto but it is. I think Floyd is of the mindset that everyone already knows who he is fighting so no need for him to announce it when we already know.

Floyd probably isn't even fighting in September anymore. Wouldn't make any sense for him to only give himself 5 weeks to promote a fight. He'd be missing out on too much money. Especially if its really Berto

So we know that if you're a possible pick in a Floyd's fight you should train ahead by now. But the real question is, can you really train as hard as you can knowing that you don't really know or have an inkling if you got the chance to get picked?

What if Thurman or Porter or kell, who truly does not expect it, had been chosen and didn't really actually train ahead? Who's the loser again here? We fans huh? Because at the end of the day, Thurman can say he only trained for a month to fight floyd while floyd has been grinding the gym like a stallion for 3 months ahead knowing fully well who he is intending to fight with.

The best fighters out there stay in shape year round. Floyd, Bernard, paq, and so forth. The greats understand that boxing is a lifestyle.

Andre Berto has been in training camp since early July I believe.

They know who they are already and been training... we just don't have an official announcement yet

Training for at least three weeks now. The only thing is all parties involved have to be muted until the official announcement which is slated for Thursday.

One fight is already signed for that date (Jack vs. Groves) and another one is most likely going to be on there as well (K9 vs. Charlo). All that is needed is the main event and everything else will fall into place.
