You're getting confused.
Thurman would be a cherry-pick.
I would probably prefer Thurman over Berto, but neither can beat Mayweather, and Berto will likely offer a better fight. I wouldn't pay to watch either of them.

Thurman can fight anyone he wants after Mayweather hangs up his gloves but he wants the lottery like the rest of everyone on earth who is not a multi-millionaire. That's my point. And when someone says he has to earn it as if Guerrero and Berto and others did, that's a laugh. Its about luck and timing.

Part of the blame should go to the fighters too though.
These are the opponents of the top 5 welters heading toward September.....
Chris Algieri, Frankie Gavin, Luis Collazo, Adrien Broner, Jessie Vargas.
Brook/Thurman/khan/Porter/Bradley, need to fight Brook/Thurman/khan/Porter/Bradley...... otherwise, it is most definitely their fault.

They have done absolutely nothing to deserve a Mayweather payday.
They have intentionally avoided risky fights, all of them.
You say Mayweather is this big star, so he must select a big opponent.....
Well, when the current welters become a big opponent, they will get a call.
Lara is the most deserving.

2) who cares what silly casual fans think
3) the fact that you admit there could be 5 fighters who are more qualified proves my point
4) being the most deserving welter, when not one welter has made an effort to sign two good back-to-back opponents..... means absolutely nothing, and will not land you a Mayweather payday, and nor should it
Thurman is just another welter, who has done little of note recently.
