Even Guerrero initially turned down a fight and Porter declined as well as an at the time viable Mallinaggi. He has been trying to get higher ranked fighters to fight him for two years. All he does is fight who will fight him and keeps on winning.
FYI, Thurman didn't avoid any top fighters. And he can say yes all he wants but his management, like all fighters managements pick who he fights from a selection of opponents who are willing to fight him. Ask any boxing insider, a fighter signs the contract which allows his management to pick who he fights and a fighter has to abide by the contract.
That's why you always hear a fighter say whoever my management picks is who I fight. Just ask One Punch Productions, a promoter who visits this site. Only guys like Floyd and Wlad can actually 100% pick who they fight. The rest are controlled by management.
