Absolutely pointless notion. You could do this for any fighter and make them sound better than they are. Paulie is a decent boxer, nothing more.

This is the EXACT reasoning behind "the sport of boxing" you dont have to be the strongest puncher in order to win a boxing match, hence scoring by each seperate round. You can beat another boxer by utilizing different aspects of fighting that the opponent doesnt have. and this is what makes the fans of brawlers or power punchers go crazy...you can win a boxing match with various skills, and power isnt the only skill, if you dont have power, you still can win a boxing contest. (if only the strongest boxer ever won, we can have a bench press contest and determine the winner without ever having to actually box! BOXING 101

            Yes I agree. He's tough

True but when you don't have pop, it's very difficult because everyone will literally just walk through your punches. Paulie is one of the rarer breed of guys with very little power but have still made it to the top level. Even in amateur boxing, it's easier to fight when the other guy can't hurt you.

"The sport of boxing" is made up of guys with different intangiibles, guys like Matthysse with his power which is his gift, Pacquiao with his speed and explosiveness and so on. Boxing isn't about power but those are the intangibles which help you to win boxing matches.

If Paulie had power (its to do with his hand injuries) he would be and incredibly difficult person to fight, heck if Paulie had the same power as someone like Sadam Ali instead of Maidana he would still be a very dangerous fighter. Paulie would have been a top ten without a doubt with that gift in his arsenal.

I agree, he is already very frustrating. Now imagine having to get passed that annoying jab if it had a bit of pop behind it. You never know, he may have memo power.

And he's reached this level of boxing without "pop". So he is what boxing is about, being able to win "boxing" matches without that intangible (power) but you also have people that say the same about Floyd, but people dont keep trying to walk through his punches and he finds ways, to WIN boxing matches anyway. thats why I like boxers, that can find a way to win without the one INTANGIBLE that casual fans think you need, in order to win a "boxing" match.

Good post but Floyd isn't feather fisted, there's a reason why Canelo and Maidana didn't steam roll him and it's because he has respectable power. People forget he was a killer in the lower weights. And Floyd has his intangibles in speed and reflexes.
