It takes a tremendous amount of skill to compete at the top level and even more so when you lack power as you will have to rely on your speed and skills to keep your opponents from walking through you. Imagine if he actually had some pop with his skill set. Would be a threat no?
Imagine If Paulie Malignaggi Had Power...

If he had power with his horrid technique and style? Not possible but sure, if he had some crazy Matthysse power while backhanding and slapping folk with his wrist powered punches he'd be damn near unstoppable.Comment

I just don't like thoughts like this because if he really had power he probably wouldn't fight the way he does. If Pernell Whitaker or Floyd Mayweather had power they probably wouldn't have concentrated so much on defense and wouldn't be as great as they were.Comment

I was actually imagining if Paulie somehow KOd Danny tonight, how big of a shock and boxing memory that would be lol.

ROFL this thread reminds me of a great post, and my response to it, from a thread on a hypothetical Provo/Algieri rematch...
Something tells me if Provodnikov works on his footwork, stamina, doesn't gas after a couple a rounds, punching power and improved accuracy and protects his face a little better so he doesn't cut as much and also improves his strength and overall speed Algieri won't get so lucky to get a W this timeDon't mind me if I've made a minor correction to your post. I definitely agree that if Provodnikov improves basically every aspect of his game (aka your original post), he could win. But that's not likely to happen.Comment
