  • If Cotto Wins

If Cotto ends up beating Canelo in convincing fashion, does is it mean he is truly back to prime form or does it mean Canelo is just average and overrated?

It means physical prime is overrated, and it is. Your physical prime isn't when you're the best fighter. Bhop is a great example and Cotto is another one. Floyd as well, I think he was at his best at WW. He didn't run he stood in the pocket or on the ropes and slipped from there. Much more skill than running as fast as you can. I think Cotto has more power now at 160 than he ever did at 140 or 147. He's in better shape than he was too. The only thing is he is probably slower than he was and less willing to go war. If you ask me which version of Cotto is best? It's the Freddie version not the "prime" version.

And Canelo beat Trout. It's called a triangle theory.

Every guy has a bad night. Canelo choose to do with Floyd. Cotto had a one with Trout. **** happens.

The problem is that was still the best Canelo had, who goes into a Floyd fight without giving it their all? That was the worst version of Cotto against Trout. The lone exception where Cotto looked worse was against Manny.

I think I agree with your comparison . This version of Cotto is the best version, atleast from what we've seen soo far. If he can get through Canelo then 100 percent Cotto in best form yet.

Personally I feel Cotto would beat trout if they went at it again. You really don't see a better version of Cotto in recent fights? His returned inrltensity, aggression and body work all looked better than in the trout fight.

It means Cotto never got his ass whooped by plaster.

A man that has been "plastered" doesn't fight like that. Yet the idiots would still never admit it that Margarito had his number that night.

Cotto is quite hated these days

I doubt he'll get credit if he wins

Cotto had 2 brutal beatings, Marg and Pacman. Not many fighters can make a comeback from those kinds of whoopings. Cotto is here doing it right now, and will make a bold statement if he can beat young hungry hard hitting canelo.
