He doesn't need Golovkin, he has a bigger fight 7 pounds north. He's targeting Golovkin because Team Golovkin ran their mouth and now Ward's calling them on their bull****. He's exposing Golovkin more outside than the ring than he might in the ring.
Ward begging for GGG fight

GGG is fighting Lemeuix next. Ward shouldn't beg for something he will not get. Just go about making your next fight. Objective fans understand what happened.
Just please do not feel the need to go the Floyd route as the villain.Comment

Ward would be a great fight that can go either way. And I think and hope it will happen.
People want GGG to lose so bad that they think he should really fight Ward instead of the Cotto-Canelo winner...when every boxer in the world would choose the big ppv cotto/canelo route if they were in the same position.Comment

Ward should see if Abraham wants rematch or maybe go after a Direll brother if he can.Comment

After 160 your a light heavyweight to me theres no 168 class, that was for young fighters growing into classes. The 168 division is titled so that promoters have another titled class to earn off of.
The junior & super weight classes are where management and promotion "hide" fighters!
Ward should have graduated from 168 to 175 years ago but he must not think he could compete there.
As for GGG he is obviously a middleweight and 175 is out of his realm.
At 5' 9 1/2 and easily makes 160, he's where he belongs.
If they make the fight just cut the difference at 164 and lock out the rehydration at 173lbs make it 10 rounds because theres NO belt involved, ring the bell!!!

In his mind he's leaving money on the table by moving up before this fight. But he needs big fights and he needs them fast. A win over Kovalev puts him right back on top.Comment

yeah, because it's the obvious route to exhaust all of your options in your current division before moving up. i don't blame ward for chasing this fight, but he has to accept that although the time may be right for him right now, golovkin has other priorities. if ward was worth as much as the other potential opponents on the horizon for golovkin, then he could skip the queue - otherwise, he has to wait
the order should be: golovkin-cotto/alvarez (160) -> golovkin-ward (168) -> ward(/golovkin?)-kovalev (175)
those are the major checkpoints, there may be a few detours along the way also (golovkin-lee, ward-degale, etc.)Comment
