Beterbiev looks stiff and pedestrian at times on the outside. He's pretty powerful and compact on the inside though, so if he can take Kovalev's power early, it could be competitive.

beterbeiev needs another year, ideally id like this fight to take place beginning of next year when hes 14-0

put him in with bika and chilemba and a couple more tune up's before this mega fight PLEASE

kovalev has been a pro for more than five years and he has improved with every fight, especially since he hooked up with jackson. their amateur history suggests that they have a comparable level of raw talent, but kovalev is much much more polished at this stage. as a kovalev fan i'm not going to complain if the fight gets made, but from beterbiev's perspective one or two more step-up fights would do him a world of good before jumping in the ring with a top 5 p4p pro. give him chilemba and fonfara first

Yes and it's not just about Beterbiev building experience, they also need the extra time to hype this fight up to make it a HUGE deal. Two Russian KO machines with unbeaten records? And with a long history and real beef? There's so much potential here, they should milk this thing as much as possible instead of throwing a green Beterbiev in there with kovalev too soon.

I would slightly favor Kovalev, but wouldn't be surprised if Artur "the Wolf" wears him down. Beterbiev actually has decent hand speed, but is economical in his approach, also unlike most Kovalev's fights to date he will not have a size advantage. Inn saying this I still like Kovalev by late stoppage.

Don't really care about this fight right now. I would put Betrbiev and Gonzalez on the Stevenson/Kov undercard and have the winners fight.

Beterbiev isn't ready for this. I think it's a dangerous risk and a mistake to put him in with Kovalev already.

It would be a more interesting fight in a couple of years, when Beterbiev is better established as a pro.

I'm not sold on Beterbiev yet, he looks very dangerous and has a great inside game, but he does strike me as one dimensional.
