Sergey Kovalev vs. Artur Beterbiev

Obviously not. Beterbiev is one of the best amateurs of recent times, he fought the top guys at that level and had an abnormal KO ratio, also never went down. The pro game is different, but what he learned and achieved as an amateur stays with him. I don't believe we've seen him out of first gear so far as a pro.Comment

I think Prov is a robot. He's a tough sob who eats punches, but will punch the **** outta you to. I think Beterbiev gots a lil more going on than Prov. And not to diss Prov or anything cuz he is a bad mfer no doubt about it, but he's mainly a bad mfer with not too much exceptional about himself beyond being a bad mfer.Comment

based on what? I haven't really seen him take a punch nor has he been hit by a guy like kovalev. I think beterbiev is too rigid and mechanical. If kovalev fights him like Hopkins I think it's an easy win. Exchanging with him is a bad idea for kovalev.Comment

Mostly based on general feeling and eye test, but also he fought some big punchers as an amateur (different game, I know) without going down, when you consider his style to go with that, I think it's fair to assume his chin is solid.Comment

Didn't he get put down two fights ago?Comment

Something interesting I found..
Here is what Kovalev said to Artur Beterbiev(on the amateur battle): "When did you beat me, Arthur? In your dreams maybe? The fact that corrupt judges in Magnitogorsk gave you one point advantage does not mean anything and during our sparring in Russia's national team (all other Russian boxers can confirm it) your head was flown back down to your ass. You did not have the balls to face young Chilemba, but preferred to fight the shot Spaniard whom I devastated in his prime and he is now a journeyman. You should fight real opposition and deserve the fight with me first and then I'll punish you for your conceit and your lies about beating me in the amateurs."Comment
