Doubt it happens and it shouldn't. Right now, Kovalev would batter him.

Now let's make Golovkin vs. Khytrov early next year.
Khytrov is nowhere near ready, 10 fights and his best win is Melendez. At least Beterbiev has a faded Cloud and Campillo on his record.

This is a peach of a fight if it gets made. To all those who say Beterbiev isn't ready I disagree - he is built from Lomachenko material - comes into pros on a roll - doesn't need to pad his record. Someone is getting knocked out and it might even be Kovalev. This fight whets the appetite even more than GGG-lemieux.

as much as i would love this fight, it doesn't make sense right now for anyone involved

what makes sense is Beterviev build up at PBC, then Haymon cashing in in Stevenson, then massive Beterbiev vs Kovalev

right now it is like Spence vs Floyd: the balance of risk and reward is tremendously off

it's okay to let fights "marinate" (jaja) just a bit; this one is nowhere near ready.

That said, why the **** is there no pressure for Stevenson to face Beterbeast? They could make the fight tomorrow.

I dont mind this fight at all but it is to soon. This could be a monster event down the road and after a few good wins by Beterbiev.

Imagine Ward/Beterbiev/Kov/Fonfora/Stevenson/Braehmer if he ever steps up/Gonzales had good showing and maybe Pascal in like 2 years.

Do you not follow the sport? Both are signed with GYM and Yvon Michel made it very clear, BEFORE Haymon was even in the picture, that these two fighters would never meet in the ring as long as they were both promoted by him.

The only way I could see that changing would be if Beterbiev did beat Kovalev and then becomes mandatory to Stevenson's WBC title.
