I believe the fight does well as far as attendance. 300k is way off base though, no way this fight does what Cotto vs Martinez did.

      • WOW somebody is getting Knocked out. Man this should be a wild one. Logic says GGG wins via better skills, however you never count out a guy with as big a punch as lemeuix has.

Top section was cut off and they had 9000 tickets for sale I think, I only saw one section there that wasn't completely packed.

There were a LOT of people there for GGG and a very, very small percentage of them were Eastern European. That was Golovkin's first fight at the big Garden and against an unknown Aussie and he had 8000 or so people there for him. The crowd was great.

          Stop hating.
They expected it to sell a lot more tickets. That's why they moved him from the smaller room to the main room. There's a reason they didn't go back there for his next fight.

          Stop trying to skew reality.

Ticket sales from the 77,000 crowd were $9.5 million. Froch netted $12.5 million.

If this next fight goes at $50/ticket and gets 300,000 views then that will be $15 million income just from ppv. Not a bad start for the first PPV. Lets see where Golovkin is at the end of his career.
I don't have a point of reference. I'm just calling it as I see it. I'd be surprised if this does anywhere near 300,000 buys.

          floyd is fighting on sho.

canelo - cotto will proably harm it, i agree.

ggg - lemieux is a test of ggg's starpower. it's a foreplay before the canelo and ward fights.
What does it matter if Floyd is on Showtime? Golovkin is trying to put on a PPV in the month between two other PPVs featuring 3 of the biggest stars in the sport.

We know, we know. You can't stand it. DAMN. Another 7-8 + months of you having to read about Golovkin! Sucks for you.

Golovkin may be a coward, but you certainly are not, posting this from your couch, you bad boy you!

I'm just gonna end up going to msg to see it instead of paying PPV money. Cotto Canelo ain't gonna be here so I'll just go to this.

WTF are you talking about dude. I don't know what the hell I'm skewing, I' simply saying ask anybody who went to the fight and they will tell you the crowd was rockin' for GGG and A LOT OF PEOPLE WENT TO SEE HIM. Forget the numbers, the fact of the matter is there was 7000 or so American/local fans who went to see some unknown Kazakh at MSG.

I'll say it again- the top was blocked off. There was only one small section that wasn't almost completely packed.

                Deal with it

Refresh my memory, what was Andre Ward's last opponent's record before he fought him?

Coward? Man, I wouldn't even Cotto a coward even though he is ducking Golovkin. Every boxer that enter the ring shouldn't be called a coward.

No denying Lemieux was beaten twice however he has made a comeback since and won a championship belt against a very decent opponent. You cannot degrade Lemieux just like that.
