Canelo likes giving the fans what they like to see... so don't rule it out, he delivered on Trout and Lara.

i don't think they could sue cotto, but they certainly could sue the wbc. but if mayweather truly retires, then cotto will have no need for the belt any more and he'll do a rid**** bowe. even if mayweather doesn't retire cotto would probably drop it without too much fuss rather than fight golovkin at 160 lbs. we really need alvarez to beat him

i don't think he could get away with that, he's young and ambitious. cotto can vacate because he's old and may never fight at 160 lbs. canelo inevitably will end up at 160 lbs so he'll lose a lot of face immediately vacating a title he has just won because he'd rather continue to hide in between divisions

those of us who would rather see golovkin vs cotto or canelo than golovkin vs heiland (or whatever) for the vacant strap. if canelo wins then we get two good fights in the near future, whereas if cotto wins just one

Cotto-Canelo will take place in November, either on the 7th or the 21st, with HBO Pay-Per-View carrying the event. The fight will take place at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

In several recent interviews, Cotto made it clear that he would demand a catch-weight in his upcoming middleweight fights - at least for the foreseeable future.

Awesome. Play hardball and end up fighting some guy named Jorge Sebastien Heiland for the belt Cotto throws in the trash.

So he can't fight Ward at 168 for his belt... Convenient catch weight I see

Cotto wants to steer well clear of Golovkin at what ever weight.
