I don't think Kov-Adonis not happening has anything to do with duva wanting to play A-side, they had a purse bid which they called for then realise that Adonis team would actually show up and take the fight. Maybe they didn't want to risk anything yet whilst they still have their HBO contract.
Why is a Kovalev-Pascal rematch being considered?

I agree lhw is much more prestigious but he's in a bad spot because most of the best guys(Adonis, Fonfara, beterbiev) are all with haymon and there's no way in hell they get made. The options at cw are more competitive and interesting. I much rather see him fight guys like kudryashov, huck, lebedev, hell even kalenga is a much more interesting fight than braehmer, Alvarez or Chilemba.Comment

CW is a dead division and Kovalev would be tiny next to guys like Kudryashov, Usyk and Huck. Especially the first two. But yeah, I don't have any interest in a Pascal rematch.he needs to fight other top ten guys. I don't see the Adonis fight ever happening, so they need to fight other top ten guys like braehmer, Chilemba, etc. it's not great but it's better than this rematch. His best option is just to go up to cruiserweight, none of the good ones are tied to haymon so he has his pick of exciting fights.Comment

I think lhw is a dead division for him now that his options are so limited. The guys you mentioned are much better options for him, wouldn't you say?Comment

Cos....like I said...he or his team, didn't want the fight. They turned down the purse bids. I have no idea why. So, fighting Pascal again isn't a bad idea, it's better than all this Nadjib Mohammadi rubbish and any other name that might get thrown in there.Comment

That video of him sparring Guillermo Jones was entertaining, but it didn't exactly inspire confidence that Kova would be much of a terror 25 lbs north. If he completely runs out of options, he'll have no choice.Comment

Yea it's a big jump in weight and he might struggle but I rather see him in competitive fights than just obliterating everyone in the division.Comment
