Why is a Kovalev-Pascal rematch being considered?

That fight was way too one sided to waste time with a rematch. Pascal would need a gun or at least a baseball bat to have chance to beat Kovalev.

I don't see the Adonis fight ever happening, so they need to fight other top ten guys like braehmer, Chilemba, etc. it's not great but it's better than this rematch. His best option is just to go up to cruiserweight, none of the good ones are tied to haymon so he has his pick of exciting fights.

Because Kov/Duva prefer the easy money from HBO to beat Pascal again rather than fight Adonis on another network.

By staying with HBO, they will give him easy fights and move up SMW's to keep Kov making them a profit until they are forced to fight Adonis.

What's too discuss. Kovalev is an hbo fighter. Stevenson doesn't have a contract with any network. If the fight happens it has too be on hbo.

Kovalev can't fight on Showtime or NBC or espn or any other network.

Being the man at 175 seems much more prestigious. At least a big showdown with Ward looms in the horizon and hopefully Stevenson and Beterbiev if Kov's manager can somehow work with Haymon.

Kovalev is in a tough position with a small time promoter that has no clue what she's doing. Haymon has all of his opponents and she's bitter because he holds all the bargaining power. Her ego got in the way of doing what's best for her fighter.

Basically this. I might not be as harsh on Duva in my description, but I'm not exactly a fan of her myself & what she's doing with Kovalev. That said I dug Kov vs Pascal the first time & wouldn't hate seeing it again & its probably the best makeable fight for Kov.
