It's a great fight and it just goes to show if there is enough money, guys will take the test.
I am jealous man! That is so awesome you will be able to make this show,
it should be crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if "Chocolatito" is a co main event against maybe Segura?

Gonzalez would be amazing on the undercard. I went to the stevens fight in the theatre, and it was a crazy atmosphere with multiple fights in the stands. Even though Curtis was from NY it was a GGG crowd even back then. I was at the Geale fight also, and although still fun it was a dissapointing fight.

Yeah seriously, if it's at MSG I may very well be there as well. Would be a great show.

Can't really see how people keep on going on and on about Ward ducking Golovkin and vice versa. When the time, money and weight are right, they're obviously going to fight each other. In the meantime, why wouldn't Golovkin beat Lemieux, get his first really big fight against Canelo(assuming he gets by Cotto) and then move up. Ward can get a couple more fights under his belt, bring his name back to the forefront and then we'll have the biggest and most important fight in boxing.

            Good Fight But Not PPV

Honestly, GGG hasn't beat any world class fighter on the A side. Fighting Lemieux will be his toughest test but I don't see paying money for this. I'll catch it the following week. GGG isn't PPV material yet.

yeah i see this flopping on usa ppv. anything lower than 300k buys and it's hardly worth it. they should just content themselves with canadian ppv and normal hbo

I agree this shouldn't be PPV. But it appears it's the only way to make the money work.

I do think 300k is possible because it's a fan friendly fight to sell with 2 KO artists. But it's going to need a few 24/7 shows and a FACEOFF with Max to get casuals excited. 300k is about what Canelo and Cotto do without fighting Floyd. So if he can get to that number he will have proved himself as a big draw, because his opponent is even less know than Sergio and Lara.

Depends how they market this fight. At 200k buys they can meet the minimums for the purses. I wouldn't doubt they're guaranteeing Lemieux atleast $3mill, probably $4mill. At a $60 price tag, if they sell 200k that's a $6mill pot for the fighters from the US ppv alone. At 300k buys it's a $9mill pot. HBO at the end of the year probably wouldn't put up more than $4mill for this fight. Golovkin pulls a million alone from selling his fights internationally. Lemieux did over a mill from Canadian ppv in his last fight. Moneywise they'll be fine. The question is should they put this fight in NYC or Montreal? I think Golovkin gets a special deal from MSG for fighting at the Garden & Forum. Having the fight in NY actually creates a media buzz for the fight.

If K2 is smart, they'll put T.Johnson/O'Kane on the undercard to build up the mando.

that goes to show you how over priced these guys are. I like them both a lot but this isn't a ppv and their purses need to be more realistic so they can make this on hbo.
