I think you need to be asking yourself why you hold Floyd to a certain set of standards you wouldn't hold any other (great) boxer to? Just because Floyd's at the very top of the sport he's not allowed to have a farewell fight? It happens all the time in the sport and people could care less who the soon to be retired fighter is fighting. They just want to see them lace em up one more time and hope to catch a glimpse of what that fighter used to be. Floyd is 39 years old, has beaten everyone the fans said he wouldn't ... He's beaten everybody period. When does it end? He beats a guy like Thurman, who looked the way he did against Collazo, and then what? "Ahhh Thurman wasn't **** he should fight...." It will never be enough for certain people. If it was up to you you'd have him fight well into his 50's and take on every single challenge he can, regardless of weight just so when he eventually brakes down and loses you can all rejoice in saying "he was always a bum"... I don't blame him.

Are you comparing Archie Moore, a possible top 10 ATG, HOFer, world champion with Andre Berto?

Moore actually outweighed Marciano in that fight and had previously campaigned at HW and would continue to fight at the highest level for at least half a decade afterwards. He would also once again challenge for THE heavyweight championship of the world.

Now let's look at Berto, never the number one guy or close to it in ANY division in boxing. Not a HOFer let alone an ATG. No high level win prior to Mayweather most definitely none post-Mayweather if that fight ever happens. Berto has been a shot fighter for some 3 years now and is 3-2 in his last 5 without a single win in the top 50 of his chosen division.
