Yes, Chavez Jr. was a spoiled brat back then but he had a fan base willing to pay to see him fight. Today, not so much.
It's possible that GGG might agree to a CW in return for a bigger share of the purse, or even just to give the winner an incentive to fight him ASAP instead of incubating the belt for as long as the WBC allow them to get away with it..

I completely agree with you. It is the haters who are out in left field somewhere playing with themselves who really have no idea what is going on in the boxing world right now.

Can you get that through your head? If they had made him an offer we would have heard all about it by now.

        Did you hear about it?

If so, tell us how much GGG turned from Ward down to focus on Lemieux.

Oh no!!! You are asking the Ward-trolls to provide corroborating proof for their claims? They are all going to run and hide under their bridges now! They don't deal in facts! If they did, they would never make so much as one post on the board.

Stop the play on semantics . Ward said he would like to sit down and negotiate the fight with GGG and his team , NOT THROUGH THE MEDIA . Go-lov-him and his team responded "THROUGH THE MEDIA" that they want a catch weight of 99-pounds . Opps my bad it was 164 , but might as well been 99 as it was only intended to derail the fight .

They knew a 164 catch weight would deliver the exact same results as asking for a catch weight of 99-pounds = an impossibility ! So for the GGG team it's "mission solved" while saving a little face .
Absolutely, that is exactly what happened.

Team Golovkin knew that Team Ward would never even consider 164.

            Golovkin ducked Ward like a b1tch !

Months ago, Loeffler talked about how GGG was willing to take short money to get the fight done with Cotto but that the one thing that was not up for discussion was a catchweight. Under no circumstances will they accept a catchweight to fight for a middleweight title against another middleweight title holder or contender. This has been their position since day one and they have never shown any sign of modifying it. Not to mention that the winner of that fight has no choice but to fight GGG in any case, in their NEXT FIGHT, if they ever sign the agreement for the step aside that is.

The winner fights Golovkin or they vacate the title which could open them up to other penalties depending on the agreement they sign. But unless they want to sit on their ass for the rest of their career, they will fight Golovkin. Don't forget, just because they are obligated to fight GGG in their next fight, GGG can fight whoever he wants, whenever and wherever he wants. So he will be making money while the winner incubates on the sidelines.
