He wanted to upstage Pacquiao,by knocking out algieri. I guess in his mind,he thought that if he could beat algieri better than Pacquiao did, that would somehow solidify his claim to a mayweather fight. But he never expected to fight the "uncaged" version of algieri.

To build interest for a fight with Mayweather. Yep, didn't go so well.

Well it was supposed to be Khan beating Algieri in more dominating fashion than Pac. The plan backfired though.

He wanted a safe winnable fight so he would still be in the Mayweather sweepstakes.

Algiers was considered to be featherfisted and Pac failed to KO him so Khan saw him as a low risk/high reward fight. If he ko's Chris, he up stages Pac and has a bigger claim to a Floyd fight.

He didn't expect Chris to be let out of his cage though..

Almost all of Khan's cherry picks go wrong, which is as clear an indication that the levels are equal or strikingly similar. That's the point that tards fail to realize.

Meldrick Taylor had blinding speed and he torched everyone he fought. Why is the Khan-man the only fighter who is claimed to have all this speed, but is constantly struggling with inferior opponents. It just doesn't add up!!!

Then as a rebuttal and in the Khan-man's defense, tards state that styles make fights Khan supposedly has Blinding speed, fast feet, is highly skilled Olympic medalist ... Yet, he's getting timed and caught by much slower fighters, walked down by fighters that are barely wet behind the ears and losing to opponents that are less that A-level prospects.

                  Macho Camacho
                  SRR
                  Floyd
                  RJJ
                  Pernell

The list goes on and on with fighters who were extremely fast and skillful. All were fighters who had the same attributes that the Khan-man supposedly has, yet they all became superstars, while Khan is still struggling and searching out light targets.

The shit just does not add up!!!!

What is the purpose of Mayweather fighting Berto, a guy who hasn't ever fought at the level of Algieri fighting Pacquiao?
