    ^This right here.

Wlad was under Steward for the Brewster fight so that excuse also goes right out the window..

If Brewster got stopped in round 4 , nobody would be saying Wlad was not in his prime.

He's only pre - prime for the simple reason he lost and they want to brush away those losses. Of course it doesn't work like that.

Wlad was in the pinnacle of his absolute prime when Sanders and Brewster destroyed him.
wlad was in his physical prime but not his boxing prime. some peak early and some peak at a later age. wlad never started to use his height and improve his defense until manny got a hold of him. anyone who says wlad hasnt improved since the sanders/brewster fights is either a moron or delusional. hes learned to fight tall and pace himself making him much harder to beat these days

Holmes by wide UD possibly late stoppage
holmes is an atg but he wasnt unbeatable. he also had a couple questionable decisions that could have went either way such as the witherspoon and carl williams fights. hate to break it to you but if guys with good jabs like carl williams could box with larry,, wlad certainly could too not to mention he hits tons harder. wlads jab is actually very fast for a man his size. ask the elusive david haye who as fast as he was couldnt avoid them. wlad would have given larry big problems

it was his first fight with steward. it takes a hell of alot more time that one fight under a trainor to get attuned. wlad gave away his height back then but finally learned to fight tall after that brew loss

I honestly never remember holmes saying anything good about any fighter besides himself

Holmes also stated that Rocky Marciano couldn't carry his jockstrap. He put Joe Louis 'in the same boat' as Marciano, i.e. 'a good, smaller fighter', and that Joe Louis wouldn't be able to sustain the punches fighters threw in Holmes' own era. That Mike Tyson would 'have been a good sparring partner'. That Foreman was afraid of him.

It's interesting though, Holmes would be a relatively small HW today.

                    Bigger isn't necessarily better.
