Golovkin's fans might be pleasantly surprised if fights an opponent with a pulse. However, real boxing fans won't be happy.

If you're not happy that one of the most exciting fighters in the world might be stepping up the level of his opponents,then I'm not so sure that you're a "real boxing fan".

Golovkin is my favourite fighter but I don't think I care about him half as much as you seem too. Instead of attacking Golovkin on a daily basis with all these embarrassingly sad posts and threads why don't you just strap on a pair and go the full hog and stalk Golovkin in real life, you know you want to.

What example?? 2013? Golovkin was not a household name in 2013. He was just beginning to get his buzz. Since then he's basically considered the top guy at MW and HBO has basically moved to make him their #1. Comparing him now to then is pretty weak. Not to mention his opposition that year was extremely sus. It's easy to fight 4x a year when ppl don't exoect high quality fights outta u.

Donaire was in 2012 and he did it and Golovkin's HBO debut was the end of 2012 so your attempts to get out of your false claims are not succeeding. You were shown to be wrong, just admit it.

We all suspect that is Lemiux. Something important that Loefler said is that they are heading to a final stage of negotiation with WBC and Cotto-Canelo, so that's good news.

Loffler and team Golovkin have a knack for setting these lofty goals for the guy and his fans run with it as a basis for how special of a fighter he is until it doesn't happen abd their shocked, well the decent ones are. Fighting 4 times a year is hardly "lofty goals", nor does it define how "special" he is. It's what he has been doing anyway. It's quite simply a fight schedule that he may or may not meet - but you are the one who chose to focus on it for some utterly bizarre reason. No-one is going to be "shocked" when it turns out he will only fight 3 times this year - although again, maybe you might want to look away from the idea of a calendar year and see that his last four fights, from Geale to Monroe, happened in the space of 10 months.

So if he fights before October of this year....guess what, genius? He will have fought 4 times in the space of 12 months (a year).

What is the point of contention between fighting 3 times a year or 4? Why does thinking it is 4 making Golovkin fans "gullible" for believing that "****"?

Plenty of top fighters have fought 3 or 4 times a year. 2 tends to be the norm but 3, and occasionally 4, also happens .

I assumed it just meant more preparation and rest was being factored in. Higher level competition goes hand in hand with fewer fights a year. I expect if he fights Lem now and winner of Canelo-Chavez next year, his activity will taper down to maybe 3 fights a year.
