Loeffler stated that GGG still wants to unify the belts so the obvious candidate is Lemieux. Best fight that can be made at middleweight and its a unification.
I know Lemieux didnt want to fight GGG just yet, but the other option is a mandatory against someone like Tureana Johnson which is no easy task and GGG fight will make him 3-4 times the money.
Both are strong punchers and it will be an exciting fire fight.
Early next year hopefully Cotto/Canelo winner will grow some balls to face GGG.
Canelo vs GGG would be absolutely exciting and HUGE!
Let GGG unify all the titles and then he can move up to fight at 168.Comment

"I'm not far off, and I know that if a fight with Golovkin happens, they'll probably want to have a fight in between. It'll probably be next year - obviously HBO, they know what they're doing, they want to build it properly."
Tie in where he said he called HBO before going on air and the inference is clear that as Ward understands it, the network has no plans for the bout in 2015.Last edited by Weebler I; 07-21-2015, 09:49 PM.Comment

Unless Jacobs or Quillin are able to win a title belt and free themselves from Haymon so that they can fight on HBO, there is not a chance in hell of seeing either of them in a ring with Golovkin anytime in the future. Without a title, there is also nothing they have to offer to put them above Lee. Lee has a world title. GGG wants to unify all the titles.
At least Lee can make weight, something Quillin seems to have problems with, and from the last fight, neither Lee nor Quillin will be much trouble for Golovkin and will be out of there in four rounds or less. Pretty much as soon as GGG lands something flush and decides to take him out instead of carrying him.
And after the last totally crap performance Quillin put in, I have no interest in seeing him getting another title shot until he proves himself by beating a top contender or two.Comment
Another unemployed loser living his life vicariously through HBO's hypejob de jour.
