On the other hand Nonito has greater fight weight than Lomachenko. Rigondeaux fought 140-pounds Nonito. So why there must be a rehydration clause for 137-pound Lomachenko?

Good on Team Loma for refusing the catch weight, rehydration clause and not compromising themselves and shame on Team Rigo for trying to weaken Loma by having him drop down to 124 lbs. These kinds of stipulations are destroying the integrity of boxing. Fight the best of the best AT their best - no puzzy catch weights/rehydration clauses.Comment

I don't get into all the "ducking" bs cats around here throw around on a whim. I just think this fight is a tough one for Loma & he wants every advantage vs a much lighter guy or no fight is happening til a couple years from now when Rigo is a lil older &/or slower & Loma's odds to win the fight go up drastically most likely. You can call it what you want.Comment

Rigondeaux is the one putting catchweight and rehydration clauses into the mix so how is it Lomachenko who wants advantages? Your logic literally makes no sense.I don't get into all the "ducking" bs cats around here throw around on a whim. Lomachenko isn't asking for anything out of the ordinary. If you want to fight him, come up in weight otherwise forget it and stay where you are if you think you're "too small". Simple.Comment

Sooooooo what you're saying is, it's ok for Loma to outweigh Rigo by 10+ lbs but it's not ok for Walters to outweigh Loma by 10+ lbs? GotchaBecause clearly the man you speak of is practically a welterweight on fight night...let's all act like they didn't learn a lesson from the salido fight about being outweighed, especially by a power puncher like walters. Ten to Twelve pound advantages on fight night at lower weights makes a significant difference. No wonder Walters been knocking out fools left and right, let's see if the carries up in weight...doubt he's a knockout machine at 135 or higher.
And it's funny how yall blame the weight when it comes to the Salido fight but fail to realize Lomachenko just wasn't ready for that type of fighting style. Is he now? Who knows. We might never know.Comment

The whole reason ideally for catchweight bouts (& seemingly more recently rehydration clauses which I predict will be the new catchweight) is because you CAN'T fight the best of the best at their best all the time. Rigo is tiny. He could probably compete at 118 if there was anything worthwhile there to do. Thus him moving up is making him less than his best. Loma moving down is the same thing. Thats why the catchweight is being throw out there as both guys give a lil instead of one guy giving too much for them to fight at the other guys weight.Good on Team Loma for refusing the catch weight, rehydration clause and not compromising themselves and shame on Team Rigo for trying to weaken Loma by having him drop down to 124 lbs. And **** man you a couple days behind. Rigo already said he'd fight him at 126, but he still wanted a rehydration clause.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 07-20-2015, 10:34 PM.Comment
