This tweet is fine, but I take issue with Fat Dan talking about anyone not making weight. If he can't make 268, he can't talk about Jr not making 168

Dan doesn't get paid to fight. Fat Mex Doper does get paid to fight. And be in shape.

one of the worst point deductions I've ever seen. Whoever said Chavez has average skills is grossly overestimating his skill. I've honestly never seen a fighter whine so much. He leads with his head then cries when there's a headbutt. Wtf is Reyes supposed to do? Use his head movement to avoided Chavez monstrous skull? If there's any silver lining, it's that now we get to see him lose on a bigger stage. Whoever said Chavez hits harder than any GGG opponent you're probably right. Then again he has half the skill and weighs 15 lbs more come fight night. I like Robert Garcia but by now you'd think he know to bring weights to test a scale. I hope GGG fights him as a practice (though I dont think he needs it) supermiddleweight, if he decides to move up. Which I've said before, he could and will do eventually but shouldn't be expected to if he can easily make 160.

Chavez hits harder than any fighter GGG has ever faced. Chavez has a good chin. Give Garcia some time and Chavez the benefit of the doubt - him missing weight was just a function of their scale being off.

Yeah... all quality trainers leave their final weight checking to a cheap bathroom scale and do it at the hotel. Chavez should have been at or under the weight limit before he left the gym for the last time. Leaving it to a final check in the hotel at the last minute was unprofessional.

As others have already noted, but which cannot be noted enough, Rafael is not being paid to make weight nor is he making millions of dollars from covering the fight. He can weigh 500 pounds if he wants, it's not healthy but it's his choice.

Once Jr steps up the competition he will be exposed once again. He has good power and throws some nice combinations but his movement, stamina and work ethic are what will prevent him from becoming an elite fighter. He looked terrible tonight.

When Chavez has a minimum 10lbs advantage, how can his power and chin be accurately assessed?

Haven't yet had a chance to see the fight, but people need to keep perspective here.

It took Robert Garcia four fight camps to take the Maidana that he got and turn him into the Maidana that he became (working behind the jab, moving his head on the way in/out, working in the occasional half-step, some defensive awareness, all in addition to his own rugged natural style).

If Chavez Jr comes back, give Robert Garcia 2-3 more camps before making a judgement.

Maidana provided Garcia with something to work with, and all Garcia had to do was make some refinements. Chavez is flawed in several areas that it's gonna be impossible to fix everything.

So true. Maidana also has the motivation to get better in the ring. I don't think that Chavez cares at all.
