I'm not that confident that other than the weightclass difference Kovalev would be Ward's toughest opponent up to date. Many people are quick to call him better than Froch or Kessler, but those two are proven, veterans, their flaws have been "exposed" already during their long time career, during they fought elite fighters plenty of times. Kovalev is a kinda new guy, he gained bigger exposure only about two years ago and didn't fight as many elite fighters as those two so his flaws haven't been exposed so obviously. I say wait till the smoke clears on Kovalev too before you say confidently thathe is a better fighter than the prime Froch or prime Kessler.

GGG's resume pisses all over anything Ward has done since Froch in 2011.

Obviously, a guy like Ward at 168 would be a shock to GGG's system. He is a natural MW, after all. But likewise, Golovkin at any weight would be a different ball game for Andre after Paul Smith.

I think this fight is 50/50 on happening at best. I feel like GGG's team has overvalued him & will **** up these talks at some point with demands (if I was betting on it I'd guess the weight will be the problem cuz saying something & doing it are two very different things). Despite fighting virtually no one yet & him becoming a made man in boxing with a Ward win they always seem to wanna act like they are in the drivers seat already in the media while sitting in baby seat in back.

I know he'll beat GGG, but Kovalev is extremely dangerous for him. Not to mention Kovalev handles Clinchers exceptionally well.

I put my money on Ward vs GGG

But Kovalev > Ward - Kovalev is too strong for Ward
Agreed, you have to go for the bigger man in both fights. But Ward's inactivity and lack of serious opposition over the last 4 years, plus GGG's power, would make that one more interesting than Ward vs Kovalov. Andre wouldn't have a hope against Krusher, imo.

Ward doesn't all of a sudden lose the experience with world class fighters. GGG never had it. Oh, the Chad win > GGG's entire resume.

GGG has beaten world class fighters - Rubio, Murray, and Geale is a 3 time world champion.

Dawson was weight drained when he fought Ward. His fault, not Ward's, but he was drained in that fight and had no business down at 168.

And if Ward's inactivity doesn't come into it, why is he messing around with tune-ups against the likes of Paul Smith?

... Ward: "I would school GGG at 164"...
                  ... War Ward!

Hunt him down Dre. Enough of this BS. He can move up for Froch then he can move up for Dre.

Paul Smith and Edwin Rodriguez, those kinds of cab drivers?
