  • Comments Thread For: J. Mayweather: Maidana, Others Did Better Than Pacquiao

Trainer Jeff Mayweather, the uncle of WBC/WBA welterweight king Floyd Mayweather Jr., says his nephew received a stiffer test from Marcos Maidana than he did from the May 2nd mega-fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Maidana faced Mayweather twice in 2014. The first time, last May, resulted in a highly competitive fight which generated a September rematch. Mayweather won both fights by way of twelve round decision.

Pacquiao, who believes he was robbed on the official cards, allowed Mayweather to dictate the pace of their contest from the opening bell. With pace slowed to Mayweather's liking, it was easy for him to box his way to a twelve round decision win.

floyd did not put on the master class like people say he did but he clearly won the fight based on how terrible manny did.

Manny was supposed to come at him like maidana did in the first fight but he did not do it all.

To be honest with those two right hands Floyd landed in the 1st round put doubt in him.

I can go back and pull up posts from years ago explaining what exactly happened in the ring on May 2nd. The injury excuse was b!tch move by Bob Arum and Michael Koncz. Manny would have never said it if he wasn't told to.

Barrera didn't do too well against Pac, but Pac gave Barrera a rematch. Many people did better than Barrera did against Pac, yet Pac gave Barrera a rematch. I doubt anyone seriously thought Barrera would do much better in the second fight as well but Pac gave a rematch. I doubt anyone could mistake Barrera having beaten Pac in the first fight as well, yet some think Pac beat Floyd.
So it all points to excuses from Floyd.

So team Mayweather should stop making excuses to avoid giving Pac the rematch he and the public deserves. The fact that Floyd makes a fight boring and clinches and runs isn't a valid reason its a excuse.
And its Floyds fault at the end of the day his fights would be boring so don't lay any blame on Pac. Just give the rematch, turn up in shape on fight night against Pac and no more talking.

It is obvious that Manny's shoulder injury effected his performance. Even with this handicap Manny wasn't vulnerable at any time during the fight. Floyd was his usual cautious self and ran whenever Manny engaged toe to toe.

I don't believe that shoulder excuse.he did not bring it up not one time in the corner and nobody was nursing it.

And also That's the thing Floyd was his usual self manny wasn't.manny was supposed to be attacking from angles and being relentless and winning rounds based on out working Floyd.i thought roach had a plan for all that.

Pacquiao doesn't deserve a rematch. He showed no desire in the ring and disrespected the winner making excuses. Apart from a few idiotic Pacstans nobody cares about a rematch because they saw Pacquiao get schooled.
